Last week, our director Ilana Razbash took centre stage as a conversationalist at Parlour's 2024 Spring Salon, hosted at the stunning Brickworks Melbourne Design Studio. The event was a vibrant celebration of architectural discourse, bringing together some of the brightest minds in Melbourne's built environment community.

A Night of Laughter, Truth, and Inspiration

Alongside fellow conversationalist Tava Darakamaran, Ilana engaged in a lively discussion that touched on several crucial topics in the world of architecture and design. The conversation flowed seamlessly between moments of hearty laughter and profound insights, creating an atmosphere of both joy and intellectual stimulation.

Key themes explored during the salon included:

  • Architectural communication

  • Branding and strategy in design

  • The importance of interdisciplinary approaches

  • Storytelling in architecture

  • Empathy in design

  • Hope and future motion in the built environment

This salon provided an exceptional platform for Ilana to introduce Studio Razbash to new listeners while connecting with dedicated fans of Radio Architecture. It was particularly thrilling to announce the recent soft launch of Studio Razbash—our innovative practice that seamlessly combines architecture, acoustics, and audio. Throughout the evening, Ilana emphasised the significance of accessible conversations that transcend traditional architectural boundaries, as well as the critical need to integrate acoustics and audiovisual elements from the outset of any project. This approach aligns perfectly with our mission: to create great sound that fosters clarity and connection in every built environment.

A Resounding Success

The audience response was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees praising the event for its energy, optimism, and genuine spirit. One participant remarked, "I absolutely loved attending this week's Parlour Talk... There was SO much love in the room. And TRUTH!"

Ilana's signature question, "What gives you hope?" particularly resonated with the audience, leaving many feeling inspired and energised about the future of architecture and design.
